Re: FCC File Numbers RM-92 RM-9242
To Whom it May Concern:
I am adamantly opposed to the FCC allowing low power radio stations. We take very seriously our responsibility to serve in the public interest and do a tremendous amount to serve our commmity. Our stations have been a part of this community and have been owned by the same family since the AM signed on in 1948, and the FM in 1975.
We do everything, from announcing lost dogs to fund raisers for Habitat for Humanity. We have helped raise funds for people needing transplants, for the High School kids to go to Washington D.C. for "Closeup." We are actively involved in helping the Indian youth on the Wind River Indian Reservation with projects including Boy's and Girl's Clubs, and a new project called "Native Vision." We also interview all of the candidates for office, from City Council to Senate and everything in between.
The low power operators would congest the airrves, skim what little "cream" there might be from the advertisers, and they just couldn't provide the community with the coverage necessary for national, regional, or local emergencies.
Please do not pass these two proposals.
Sincerely,
Joe Kenney
